According to Evliya Çelebi, the Grand Mosque, which is called the Hagia Sophia of Bursa, is accepted as one of the most sacred places among all Islamic works, although little is known. Its fountain is the eye-catcher of Bursa with its minbar, the secret of which the entire space system is carved, and the calligraphy works on the peaks of its art. It is also known as the mosque where the famous Karagöz-Hacivat worked.
