The Saltanat Gate, which is located in Tophane, the historical district of Bursa and where the Ottoman entered Bursa, must be the place where the mystical atmosphere of Bursa is felt best. With the mehter anthems and light shows that play every Friday, it is not difficult to feel the master of 3 continents.
Inside the Bursa Castle, there are Roman columns, sarcophagus fragments, inscriptions, votive and grave stele and statue bases. Block and rubble stones were used in the construction of the castle. The length of the fortress walls is approximately 2 kilometers and the two towers of the fortress are located between the Çakırhamam and Tophane regions of the city. Hisar Kapi and some city walls were demolished during the great Bursa earthquake of 1855. The cut stones of the walls between the Pınarbaşı Gate and the Zindan Gate were removed for the new structure and only the foundation traces remained. The striking parts of the castle that survived to the present day are the gratings and round arches.
