It was founded in 1868 under the name of Ahmet VEFİK Pasha, opposite our current building. During Ahmet VEFİK Pasha's second Bursa governorship, the hospital was developed and increased to 60-bed capacity. In order to overcome the financial difficulties, the income of the fisheries of the various inns (Sırmakeş and Fidan Inns), the cleaning of the Pazaryeri, the water of Nilüfer tea, the wood timber from Uludağ and the Bursa Theater founded by Ahmet VEFİK Pasha were tied as flows. The capacity was expanded by making various additions with the contributions of Bursali on various dates. In 1904, the garden was expanded and new buildings were added. During the First World War, the Greek occupation largely lost its function with the hospital; It was repaired in 1922 with a major repair program. In 1926, the capacity was increased to 150 beds, and a large staff of doctors was established. The lottery participation fee is 10 TL and it is decided to give a house in Beşikçiler location as a bonus, the lottery participation was great and one million TL was collected. With this money, construction started and finished in 1952, the hospital was opened for service. It started to serve as a State Hospital under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
